I entered the field of mediation almost 25 years ago with the hope of working with individuals, families and organizations to find new ways to communicate and collaborate.
I am drawn to this work everyday by my belief in people’s ability to resolve conflict and their desire for harmony. I draw upon my experience working in a variety of social service and family intervention areas as well as my BA (Psychology/Sociology). As a Chartered Mediator, I use my training in interest-based and transformative mediation to support my clients to be their own agents of change and determine their own outcomes through processes that are respectful, focused and efficient.
I thoroughly enjoy working with and training new mediators and have worked in a mentorship capacity for many years. From ethics-based discussion groups to student practice sessions to individual coaching sessions, I work with new mediators to develop and strengthen their work with clients.
I am excited every time I facilitate workshops for non-mediators! In these sessions, I get to be part of workshop participants learning new skills and approaches to managing conflict in their daily or work lives. Small changes can lead to remarkable results.

Workplace Mediation
Training
I am a chartered mediator with a business and human resources background. I have been mediating and providing conflict resolution training for over 25 years in the areas of separation and divorce, workplace, Alberta Court of Justice civil claims, and restorative justice.
Through my work with Alberta Justice Resolution Services, and as their liaison with Community Initiatives Against Family Violence, I have extensive education and experience working with clients experiencing high conflict and family violence. I have served on the Board of the Alberta Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts for the last seven years. I am passionate about helping families through the resolution of family conflict.
Before moving into mediation, I spent ten years in the Human Resources field, including grievance administration. This gave me a strong foundation for workplace mediation and conflict resolution training.
I am proud to be one of the three Chartered Mediators who created and instruct the Separation & Divorce Mediation Program for the ADR Institute of Alberta. While I enjoy training mediators, I love teaching everyone about communication and conflict resolution. I have taught many people in the general business world and I teach Alternative Dispute Resolution to students in the undergraduate and MBA programs in the University of Alberta’s School of Business.
I have worked with thousands of clients and my gentle, down-to-earth approach has helped them get through difficult conversations and make lasting, well-suited agreements, tailor-made to their situations.

Conflict Management Coaching
Training
I am a mediator, conflict management coach, facilitator, and trainer. I support individuals to improve their conflict competencies, gain understanding and insight into their conflict, and resolve their issues.
As a trainer, I provide skills training in communication and conflict management for workplaces.
As a Conflict Management Coach, I work one-on-one with clients to help them effectively engage in and manage their interpersonal conflicts.
As a mediator, my focus is in workplace, small business, family business, community, non-profit, boards and business-to-business disputes. Whether working with pairs or teams, I support clients to resolve conflicts, improve communication, and improve workplace/organization functioning. I am active on the Alberta Court of Justice (civil claims) mediation roster.
Prior to entering the field of conflict management, I was involved in marketing, advertising, media buying, consumer behaviour analysis, and project management. I bring diverse experience from my work with corporate and commercial enterprises, small and family businesses, tech start-ups, property management, non-profits, and multi-cultural societies.
I believe effective communication and conflict management skills not only contribute to personal fulfillment and success but also provide financial benefits for businesses.
All partners at The Resolution Group are dedicated to ethical practice and continuing education. As members of the ADR Institute of Alberta and Canada (ADRIA & ADRIC), we adhere to their Mediator Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and Complaint Resolution Policy.
