Moving Beyond Conflict
Communication for Effective Decision Making
2-days
Course Description
This comprehensive two-day course on conflict resolution and decision making provides participants with a deeper understanding of the causes of conflict and a process for resolution. The skills learned equip participants with strategies and practical tools to manage difficult conversations.
This training brings together three of our workshops, Insight into Conflict, Listening to Understand, and Speaking Assertively, and introduces a model to guide difficult conversations.

- Identify the different sources of conflict
- Learn how to separate the people from the problem
- Discover cooperative approaches to manage everyday conflicts
- Learn how to assert themselves effectively, respectfully, and clearly
- Develop and practice skills to examine their own responses to conflict
- Learn how to listen with genuine curiosity, not to convince someone or to jump to solutions
- Gain skills to figure out what people really need, not what they say they want
- Develop questioning and reflecting skills to get to the heart of the matter
